Learn how to add new menus or edit existing menus for your platform

Two Steps to Taking a Menu Live:

1) Step one: create the new menu by following the steps below

2) Step two: complete this Widget form to submit a support request to take your menu live by adding a new menu widget

Important: If your menu is not appearing, it most likely because there is not a corresponding widget activated for it to appear on your frontend of your platform, so after you create your menu, please submit a widget request. Learn more about widgets here.

The menus on your platform allow users to easily navigate to key areas and for you to drive engagement to what matters most. This article will walk through how you can easily add a new menu to your platform or make an update to a pre-existing menu.

Add a new menu

To add a new menu, first navigate to the Customize > Menus area of your dashboard.

The menu types you can create include:

  • A Primary/Main Navigation Menu (sits on your front page)

  • Hero/Community Navigation Menu (serves as an inner menu on Community pages)

  • Footer Menu (sits at the bottom of your platform)

From there, you will want to select 'create a new menu' which will appear to the right of the menu dropdown, as seen below:

Once you have selected to 'create a new menu,' you will want to input a 'Menu Name' and hit 'Create Menu.'

Pro Tip: we highly recommend including the name of the page in your Menu names so you can easily identify which menu is which! For example, if you are creating a new hero/community navigation menu for your Career Community pages, name the Menu "Career Community hero menu."


​Once your menu is created, you can make changes it to at any time. To better understand that process, review the 'Edit an existing menu' section below!

Edit an existing menu

To edit an existing menu, first navigate to the Customize > Menus area of your dashboard.

From there, you will want to toggle to the menu that you would like to edit in the menu dropdown bar by clicking on the menu and then hitting 'Select.'

Once you've selected a menu that you would like to edit, you have multiple options. You can click directly into a given menu item to update the text of that menu item, you can drag and drop to rearrange where that menu item appears within the menu, or you can select a menu item and then hit the 'Delete' button to remove it from your menu. After making any changes, don't forget to hit 'Save Menu!'
