When a new subscriber sign up for a uConnect account in the top-right corner of your platform by clicking "Sign Up" for the first time, they will be prompted to create an account and select their preferences. These preferences are your Communities and Blog, Job, and Event content categories that inform what type of content they could receive in an automated email alert, if you have this functionality activated. Learn more about automated alerts here.

However you may want to limit the types of preferences (content) individuals can sign up for, so here is what you can and cannot edit:

  1. You CANNOT hide the entire Blogs, Jobs, or Events sections as they are core parts of the automated email functionality. However, you CAN hide the specific Blog, Job, and Event content categories within these sections but please note if you hide them all, these sections will be blank.

  2. You CAN hide any Communities from appearing on the preferences screen, whether they are Career Communities, Affinity/Identity Communities, Career Development Communities. etc.

Here is how you can hide both Communities and Content Categories from the preferences screen:

Step 1: Navigate to Manage and click on Communities to hide certain Communities or Content Categories to hide certain Content Categories.

Step 2: Locate the one you'd like hide, hover over the title, and click "Edit."

Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom of the Edit screen and locate the Visibility & Filters settings for Communities and the Content & Layout section for Content Categories.

Step 4: Under "Alerts Signup" select the option from the dropdown that reads: "Hidden in alerts signup." This will hide this Community or Content Category from appearing! Then you're done!
