Site visitors can use filters to locate specific pieces of content, but you can also change the order of your content so that certain items always remain easily visible at the top of the landing page or within a widget.

Important: When reordering content in your platform, you need to use descending order number, meaning the higher the order number the higher priority the content takes, thus causing it to appear before another piece of content in your widgets.

For example, if you added the order number "10" to a resource, and then the order number "9" to another resource, the resource with the number "10" would display before the resource with the number "9." For this reason, we recommend starting with a high number, such as 100, so you have plenty of wiggle room with the descending order numbers as you add more content. If no order number is assigned, all content will have an order number of 0.

If you want to change the order prioritization to ascending, meaning 1 would be the highest number/first resource that would appear, followed by 2, 3, and so on, please submit a support request for us to change that for you and then be ready to update your order numbers!

Here is a visual example below demonstrating the descending order number prioritization:

Reorder a piece of content:

  1. Log-in to the admin dashboard

  2. Click on the Publish tab in the left-hand side menu

  3. Select the content type that you would like to update, such as Resources

  4. Search for the piece of content you are looking to add/update the order number for by using the search bar on the far right. In the example below, here is what that looks like for Resources:

5. Once you find the piece of content you want to edit, there are two places in which you can update the order number for the content: 1) by click "Quick Edit"; 2) by clicking "Edit" and then navigating to the Post Attributes section. Let's take a look at both options.

Option 1: QUICK EDIT) Hover over the content (in this case Resources) and click on "Quick Edit." Then you can change the "Order" number on the right side of the options menu. Finally, click on "Update" to save your changes.

Option 2: EDIT) Hover over the content (in this case Resources) and click "Edit." Then, navigate to the right-side menu and click into the "Resource" settings. Scroll down within these settings and you should see a section called "Post Attributes," under "Featured Image." Open this section and you'll see an "Order" number field where you can input you're desired order number. Finally, click "Publish" in the top right corner to save your changes.

Note: The platform may not, in all cases, adhere to the exact order that you have entered in order to adhere to accessibility standards. If you do not see the correct order number prioritization reflected on a certain widget within a page, please reach out to our support team.
