What is the Classes Module and its key functionalities?

The Classes Module allows you to feature course content through your uConnect platform. With this module, you can feature career development classes, academic courses, and skill-building electives, online or in-person, to promote upskilling and education as a central pillar in your students’ career journeys. With a university subscription, you can also take advantage of our integration with LinkedIn Learning, the world’s largest professional network that provides students and employees across the world with over 13,000 on-demand courses in computer software, business skills, creative skills, and many more topics from industry experts. Having LinkedIn Learning courses in the hands of career offices and faculty also enables a stronger support system for students that are in all different stages of their career journey.

Within the Classes Module, the courses will be available directly within the admin dashboard from under Publish > Classes section, and admin users can tag courses to relevant Communities, making the courses quick to publish and maintenance free! If it’s a LinkedIn Learning course specifically, selecting a course's content from within uConnect will even drive students directly to their LinkedIn Learning portal, helping to increase engagement with targeted skill development frequently and seamlessly.

Why take advantage of the Classes Module and how does it support your work?

The best way students and job-seekers can increase their hireability is through building more relevant skills, but with so many possible courses to take online, whether they are paid or free, or even if they’re hosted at your institution, it is overwhelming for students and job-seekers to find the courses most relevant for them based on where they’re at in their career journey. The Classes Module empowers career centers to give improved courses access to students and alumni to greatly enhance their ability to upskill by publishing any relevant course to their virtual career. This module can also be leveraged to support admissions efforts by featuring continuing education courses to help with student enrollment and improve career outcomes. Lastly, the Classes Module can create fruitful collaboration with faculty to feature their courses that are relevant to certain career paths and feature additional classes to upskill in a specific academic major to complement current coursework.

If you are integrating with LinkedIn Learning, the Classes Module makes it easy to showcase important skill-building courses for students and alumni directly within your virtual career center, alongside curated internships, jobs, alumni mentors, professionals clubs and organizations, and more. Featuring courses from LinkedIn Learning within your Communities helps platform visitors make connections between both hard and soft skills, and their long-term career goals.
