With uConnect’s text editor powered by WordPress, you can now add ‘patterns’ to your pages or blogs that act as templates for you to plug content into!

A block pattern saves time by having a standard format you can always quickly add information to whenever you navigate to a new page, blog, or other content.

Here’s a video showing you how to create a Pattern yourself to use anywhere the Block Editor is accessible (which is within Community pages, Custom Pages, Blogs, Resources, and Experiences):

To create a new Pattern, follow the below steps:

  1. Navigate to the block within the Block Editor that you want to templatize, turn into a Pattern

  2. Click on the Block in the Document Overview section and then click on the small 3 dots on the right side of the block

  3. Within the menu settings that appear for that block, click on "Pattern"

  4. This will allow you to give you Pattern a name and also categorize if you foresee yourself creating many Patterns. Also not the sync setting: if you want to preserve the original Pattern, turn off this sync option; otherwise if you update this Pattern when you add it to another location, it will change the original Pattern.

To add your new Pattern, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the location where you want to add the new Pattern block you created, such as a Community Page (under "Edit Static Content" where the Block Editor is)

  2. Then, using the backlash key OR the black + (plus sign) button, search for the name of your Pattern you just created.

  3. Click on it and then, tada! It is now added to your page!
