A URL slug is the exact address of a specific page or post on your site. uConnect automatically assigns a URL slug for each new page, post, or collection item based on its title.

For example, if you create a custom page titled "Science and Research," its automatic URL slug is <a href="http://www.sitename.universityname.edu/science-and-research" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.sitename.universityname.edu/science-and-research</a>.

For marketing purposes, you may wish to edit a slug by shortening it or bringing it into alignment with similar pages. For example, the slug of the Marketing Consulting Club could be shortened from /marketing-consulting-club to /mcc. You can edit slugs for both Communities and Custom Pages.&nbsp;

Rename the slug as desired (remember to type the slug in lowercase letters and use hyphens in place of spaces)

1. Navigate to Pages
2. Locate the page that you wish to edit
3. Click Quick Edit
4. Rename the slug as desired (remember to type the slug in lowercase letters and use hyphens in place of spaces)
5. Click Update

Locate the community that you wish to edit

1. Navigate to Communities
2. Locate the community that you wish to edit
3. Click Quick Edit
4. Rename the slug as desired (remember to type the slug in lowercase letters and use hyphens in place of spaces)
5. Click Update Tag
