A microblog is the perfect way to get a quick message across while simultaneously adding visual variety to your blog feed.

What is a microblog?

A microblog is a shortened post that is limited to 250 characters. It differs in appearance from regular posts and can give variety to your newsfeed.

Make sure that you've enabled Microblogging under Screen Options found just beneath your name in the top right-hand corner of the screen:

Create a microblog:

To post from the "Career Center" persona, simply click the Post as School checkbox. Your post will appear like this:

To post as yourself, deselect the Post as School checkbox. Your post will appear like this:

Adding a link to the Link field produces a condensed URL on your finished post -- in the example above, the linkedin.com/lindarobinson link becomes shortened into a bit.ly link. 

Microblogs can also be featured within blog widgets and automated alerts.
