Widget Additions: Setup, Display, and Removal
Widget additions allow a new menu, resources, or buttons widget to be activated on a page with a chosen title, layout, and content display rule. If the widget does not appear as expected, confirm that the correct content has been tagged to the page it is pulling from.
What is a widget addition?
A widget addition places a new widget on a community page or channel page, such as a menu widget, resources widget, or buttons widget. Once the widget is activated, content appears based on the widget type and the tagging option selected.
How do widget additions work?
When a new widget is added, it can be configured with:
- A widget type
- A widget title
- A page or channel location
- A layout or orientation
- A display rule for tagged content
What display options are available?
Widget content can be set to:
- Show only items tagged to the community page being used
- Show all published items for that content type
What should I do after a widget is added?
If a widget is not appearing right away, confirm that the content it pulls from has been tagged to the correct page or community.
If the widget is set to show only items tagged to the current community, it will display tagged content automatically once those items are available.
Can a widget be removed after it is added?
Yes. A widget that has been added can also be removed from the page if needed.
