AI Search Analytics — What's Available Now and What's Coming

Knowing how students are using AI Search — what they're asking, what's resonating, and where gaps exist — is valuable intelligence for your content strategy and program planning. This article explains what analytics are available at General Availability, what's on the roadmap, and how to make the most of what you have right now.

What's Available at Launch

At General Availability, AI Search analytics are in an early stage. Here's what is available:

Student Feedback: Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down

Every AI Search response includes a simple thumbs up / thumbs down feedback option. When students use this feature, it captures their sentiment about the quality and relevance of the results they received.

This feedback is actively used by uConnect's team to tune and improve AI Search over time. It's not decorative — it's a genuine signal that influences product decisions.

Encourage your students to use it. Even a handful of feedback responses per week generates meaningful data. Consider mentioning it in your launch communications: "If AI Search gives you a helpful answer, give it a thumbs up. If something seems off, let us know with a thumbs down."

Search History

Search history is stored indefinitely for logged-in users and is visible to students in their own account. Students can delete their search history at any time. If a student deletes their account, their associated search history is removed as well.

Note: At launch, staff and admin users do not have visibility into individual student search histories. This capability is on the roadmap.

How to Shape the Analytics Roadmap

We have lots of exciting updates coming for AI Search! uConnect's analytics roadmap is directly influenced by customer feedback. If there are specific data points that would be most valuable for your team — whether that's understanding search behavior by major, identifying topics students can't find answers to, or tracking AI Search's impact on appointment volume.

The teams building these features want to hear what would actually be useful in your day-to-day work, so please share your feedback in the Career Everywhere Community, our support team, and your CSM! We want to know and it will help us build the best version of AI Search for all customers.

Pro Tip: While aggregate analytics are being developed, the most actionable thing you can do right now is encourage students to use the thumbs up/down feedback feature. Every response contributes to a better AI Search experience over time — for your students and for the broader uConnect network.
