Add and Customize Social Icons in Email Footers

Summary This article explains how to add and customize social media icons that appear in email footers and website displays, which icons are available to display, and options for linking to third‑party platforms that do not have a dedicated footer icon.

Available social icons You can display the following icons in the social area (found in the platform):

  • X (Twitter)
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube
  • Pinterest
  • TikTok
  • Blog

Where to edit the social icons

  1. Go to Customize -> Content & Social -> Social in the admin interface.
  2. For each supported icon, enter the URL you want the icon to link to.
  3. Save changes to update the icons used in email footers and other social displays.

Removing or replacing an icon

  • To remove an icon (for example, a broken YouTube link), delete or clear the URL for that icon in Customize -> Content & Social -> Social. The icon will no longer appear in outgoing emails once the URL is removed.
  • To replace an icon, update the URL for the desired platform and save.

Linking to platforms without a footer icon (example: PeopleGrove)

  • If there is no dedicated footer icon for a platform (for example, PeopleGrove), you can still promote that platform by adding buttons or other calls to action inside your emails or header areas.
  • Use customizable email content (buttons or header links) to link to alternative third‑party sites when no footer icon is available.

Other linking options

  • The social area supports linking to the listed standard social platforms by entering their URLs.
  • Support or other resource links can also be added through your email customization options.

Custom email guidance

Troubleshooting tips

  • If an icon points to a broken link, remove or update the URL in Customize -> Content & Social -> Social to prevent users from following a broken link.
  • To promote a destination that lacks a footer icon, add a clear button or header link in the email content rather than relying on the footer social icons.

Conclusion Use Customize -> Content & Social -> Social to manage which social icons appear in your email footers and to set their destination URLs. If a platform has no footer icon option (for example, PeopleGrove), include a button or other call to action in your email content or header to link to that platform.
