Once you've purchased any of our new Curation Kits, we've designed a simple process to activate them in your virtual career center platform so that you don't have to waste any time in sharing this great content with your underserved students!

Activating a kit

  • Click on the new Curation Module option in the Manage section of your dashboard

  • Here, you'll see a list of all available curation kits for you to activate, along with their current activation status.

  • Select the green Set Up button for the curation kit you'd like to activate. (Selecting View Sample Content will show you an overview of all organizations we've partnered with to source this content.)

  • In the configuration screen, you'll first be prompted to select a Community from the dropdown list. This list will show all active communities on your platform. The community you select from this list will automatically be applied to every new piece of content that's imported via this kit. This means, that the content from this kit will automatically curate to the relevant identity community of your choice.

  • Next, you'll be prompted to turn on the activation toggle. You only ever need to turn this on once, when you first configure the kit. This tells the system to treat the kit as 'active' and to follow the workflow and content preferences settings you'll set next.

  • Under the Settings section, you'll be prompted to turn on the Sync toggle. This will tell the system to sync kit content into the dashboard.

  • You can also choose to turn on the Auto-Publish toggle, which will automatically publish all incoming content to the front end of your platform without the need of manual approval by a member of your team.

  • In the Content Types section, you can check a box for any and all content types that you'd like included in your kits. This ensures that content of the same type available in the kit will be synced to your dashboard.

  • Once you've configured the above settings, don't forget to hit Save Updates at the bottom!

Pausing a kit

If you'd like to pause a kit to stop it from importing future content, you can do so by toggling off the Sync toggle in the settings section.

Deactivating a kit

If you'd like to deactivate a kit to delete all existing content and prevent any future content from syncing, you can do so by selecting the red deactivate button at the bottom of the screen.

Automated tagging

By default, all incoming kit content will be automatically tagged with three distinct tags:

  • a 'Student' audience community tag

  • the community tag that you ID in the first configuration setting (in the above example, LGBTQIA+)

  • an automatically created 'Expert Recommended [Content Type]' e.g. 'Expert Recommended Resource' for an imported resource.

Applying these tags allows for the following:

  • for content to be appropriately tagged and included in automated alerts when set to an auto-publish workflow, and

  • for kit content to be easily filtered and segmented from your institutional content should you want to highlight them separately within a given community or globally across your platform

Despite this default tagging scheme, you are welcome to retag any piece of imported content to fit yours and your students' needs!

Managing imported content

Once you have at least one kit active, you'll see a new Curation Module Content option under the Publish menu in your dashboard.

From this screen, you can see all content that's been imported across all activated kits. On this screen, you can filter by Kit, Content Type, and Provider. You can also see the imported content Titles, Statuses, Kit Designation, Provider Source, Content Type, and Date of Import.

Frequency of synced content

New content is synced every 24 hours. For each content type you have activated within a kit, up to 20 pieces of content will be imported at that time, pulling from our growing database of available, vetted content.
