In your uConnect platform, you can review past revisions and edits made to blogs and pages. This guide will walk you through the steps to access and restore previous versions of your content, whether it's a blog or a page.

Please note: If you are hoping to find revision history for other content types and areas of your platform, please reach out to our support team to see what's possible as blogs and pages are the only two content types uConnect clients can view at this time.

Video Walkthrough

1. Reviewing Revisions for a Blog

To check the revision history for a blog post, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Blog Section:

    • From your uConnect platform, go to Publish and then select Blog.

    • Locate the specific blog post you want to review.

  2. Access the Editing Interface:

    • Click on the blog post to start editing it.

    • On the right side of your screen, you should see a toolbar on the Post tab. If it’s not visible, ensure that your toolbar settings are enabled. You can also click the button to reveal the toolbar, or check your toolbar settings to make sure it appears.

  3. Find the Revision Section:

    • Scroll down in the right sidebar to locate the Revision section. This section will show the number of revisions made to the blog post.

    • If you don’t see a revision section, it means no additional edits have been made since the original.

  4. View and Restore Revisions:

    • Click on the number in the revision section to view the edit history. You’ll see the changes made, including any content added or removed.

    • To restore a previous version, click the Restore this Autosave option after selecting the version you want.

  5. Using the Arrow Toolbar:

    • You can also use the arrow toolbar to navigate between revisions. Click on the arrows to go to the next or previous revision. If you prefer, use the Previous or Next buttons for quicker navigation.

2. Reviewing Revisions for a Page

Similar to blogs, pages in uConnect can also have their revisions reviewed. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Pages Section:

    • Under the Publish section, go to Pages and find the page you want to review.

  2. Open the Page Editor:

    • Click on the page to open it in the editor.

    • Just like with blogs, you’ll need to find the right toolbar and click on the Page tab.

  3. View the Revision History:

    • In the right sidebar, you should see the Revision section if there have been edits made to the page. For pages with multiple revisions, you may see a higher number (e.g., 33 revisions).

    • Click on the number to view detailed changes. The added content will be highlighted in green, while deleted content will be marked in red.

  4. Compare Revisions:

    • You can also compare two revisions to see the differences. Select the dates or times you want to compare, and Uconnect will show the differences between those two versions.

  5. Restore Previous Versions:

    • After reviewing the revisions, click Restore to revert to the previous version you prefer.

3. Tips for Managing Revisions

  • HTML Format: When reviewing the revisions, they may appear in HTML code format. While it may seem complex, this allows you to see the exact edits made, including changes to formatting or links.

  • Revert Changes Easily: If you're unsure whether to restore an earlier version, use the Previous and Next buttons to review the changes step by step before deciding to revert.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to efficiently review and restore past revisions for both blogs and pages in uConnect, helping you maintain the quality and consistency of your content.

Please note: If you do not see the Revision section in the right toolbar for a Blog or a Page, that means there are no revisions or edits to restore!
