The big takeaway: incomplete data isn’t bad data, and you don’t need a perfect dataset to start helping students. #### **Workshop highlights:** - **Incomplete data isn’t bad data:** AI Search is built to stay honest about the data it has (including low response rates), protect privacy for small cohorts, and never make things up. It only pulls from content on your Virtual Career Center, and it always redirects students to college-level data, related majors, or your career team so they never hit a dead end. - **Four real-world scenarios:** We tested AI Search with no outcomes data and no Labor Market Insights, thin outcomes data only, Labor Market Insights only, and both working together. Wherever your school is today, there’s a scenario that fits. - **Staff/admin-only access (new!):** Let only your team ask AI Search about outcomes while you test, so students and visitors can’t. Find it under **Analyze → Student Outcomes → Data Exclusion**. - **Data display controls:** Show percentages instead of raw numbers, and exclude specific class years or degrees. - **Outcomes landing pages:** AI Search pulls from these even before you upload data. Use the premade AI Search banners in the Block Editor, and include a paragraph about your FDS process and privacy practices. - **Suggested Prompts:** Outcomes and labor market questions become available in your prompt library once you upload data or enable Labor Market Insights. - **Labor Market Insights:** Salary, demand, and top-employer data by location, with links to detailed occupation pages. - **A quick tip for students:** Coach students to be specific (for example, “graduates from this school”) and to ask follow-up questions. - **Need a hand with your data?** Send your unformatted FDS data to your CSM or [submit a support ticket](https://share.hsforms.com/10AUHU9-DRi-Bw3fdB-SUYA8bok), and we’ll format it so it’s ready to upload. #### **Related resources:** - [How to restrict First Destination Outcomes in AI Search to admins only](https://support.gouconnect.com/articles/how-to-restrict-first-destination-outcomes-in-ai-search-to-admins-only) - [AI Search: Student experience and prompts](https://support.gouconnect.com/articles/ai-search-student-experience-and-prompts) - [Data Privacy & Sample Size Protections for Student Outcomes Data](https://support.gouconnect.com/articles/data-privacy-sample-size-protections-for-student-outcomes-data) #### **Workshop Recording:** Watch the full workshop for a live AI Search demo across all four data scenarios, plus a walkthrough of the settings that help you share outcomes with confidence.
