uConnect Workshop: Back to School — Refresh and Optimize Your Platform
As the new academic year begins, there's no better time to refresh, reorganize, and scale your Virtual Career Center for maximum impact. In this workshop, we walked attendees through specific strategies for deciding what to update, streamlining workflows, and engaging more students and stakeholders this semester.
Workshop highlights:
- Anchoring updates in your data: we covered how to use Engagement Insights to identify top-performing content and let that data — not guesswork — guide navigation, front page, and content priorities
- Front page refresh essentials: we walked through the key elements worth reviewing each semester, including intro text, the alert banner, header image, widgets, contact info, hours, and your team page
- AI Search optimization: we covered fine-tuning prompts, guest search limits, and launcher styling, plus multiple ways to promote the feature to returning and new students alike
- Users, subscribers, and role permissions: we walked through adding and managing users, updating team pages, and reviewing role permissions to make sure your team is set up for the semester ahead
- Subscriber and email management: we covered the difference between manual subscriber uploads and automated SIS syncing, along with refreshing automated and custom email settings
- Outcomes data readiness: we discussed using AI Search exclusion rules to safely surface finalized data while withholding data that isn't ready yet
- Content management and time-saving workflows: we shared tips on cleaning up PDFs, external links, and outdated content, plus how to use scheduling and content governance to work smarter as a team
Attendees walked away with a clear, tiered checklist — scaled to 30 minutes, 1–2 hours, or more — so they could prioritize platform updates based on however much time they had.
