uConnect Product Release Notes (Aug 04, 2026 – Aug 18, 2026)

The latest updates from uConnect's Product and Engineering teams include the ability to hide specific Communities from search results while keeping them active for filters and alerts, a new AI Search Context field for adding searchable (but not visible) information to Blogs, Pages, and Resources, and more graceful handling of typos and misspellings in AI Search. This release also adds a career tools glossary for more accurate AI Search answers, clearer data import messaging in Outcomes Data Visualization, a new privacy setting to show percentages only for graduate outcomes, and automatic brand color swatches in the Block Editor's color picker.

Here are some exciting yet important product updates our Product and Engineering teams have made to your uConnect platform recently:

AI Search

  • Institutions can now hide specific Communities from search results and unpublish Community pages while still keeping them available for filters, email alerts, and user preferences

page and search visibility settings in communities

  • A new "AI Search Context" field in Blogs, Pages, and Resources lets staff add searchable information to pages without it being visible on the front end — look for it underneath the post editor (not in the sidebar). This is especially handy when providing context about external content, such as iframe embeds, without adding more visible content to the page

  • Search now handles typos and misspellings more gracefully — students no longer need perfect spelling to find what they need
  • Created a career tools glossary so AI Search gives more accurate answers about career resources

Analytics & Data

  • Clearer data import messaging — recommended fields now say "recommended, not required" instead of alarming language about empty cells
  • Institutions can choose to show only percentages (not raw headcounts) in AI Search outcomes, supporting privacy preferences — find the new setting at Analyze > Student Outcomes > Data Exclusion > Graduate Counts

Platform Design

  • Client brand colors now automatically populate the color picker, making it easier to stay on-brand. We include your Main Color, Secondary Color, and Accent Color used by your theme, as well as an expanded palette of lights and darks automatically generated from your Main Color. Look for the new swatches in the Text or Background areas when you have a Block selected
