The result is a professional, color-coded .xlsx file that documents every page in your career center's navigation — perfect for onboarding, audits, accessibility reviews, and strategic planning. ### Overview You can use an AI assistant — such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot — to automatically generate a site map spreadsheet for your uConnect platform in under 5 minutes. The result is a professional, color-coded .xlsx file that documents every page in your career center's navigation — perfect for onboarding, audits, accessibility reviews, and strategic planning. You do not need any technical experience to complete this process. All you need is access to your uConnect platform URL and an AI chat tool. This typically takes under 5 minutes. ### What You'll Need - Your uConnect platform URL (e.g., https://careers.yourschool.edu) - Access to an AI assistant — any of the following work: - ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) - Claude (claude.ai) - Google Gemini (gemini.google.com) — also accessible via Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com) - Microsoft Copilot (copilot.microsoft.com) - Your institution's primary brand color hex code (optional, but recommended — see the tip below for how to find it) **💡 Tip:** Not sure of your brand hex code? Check your institution's marketing or communications website — most schools publish their official color palette online. You can also use a browser color-picker extension to sample directly from your homepage.  ### Step-by-Step Instructions #### Step 1: Open Your AI Assistant Go to your preferred AI tool and start a new chat. For best results, use a tool with web-browsing enabled so it can fetch your live uConnect URL — this is required to auto-populate your site map with real navigation links. **⚠️ Important Note:** Some AI tools require a paid subscription to enable web browsing. For example, ChatGPT's web search feature requires a Plus or Pro plan, and Microsoft Copilot's live-browsing capability may vary by account type. Claude and Gemini may also have browsing limitations depending on your plan. If your AI assistant cannot access a live URL, it will still generate a blank template you can populate manually with your navigation links.  #### Step 2: Copy the Prompt Below Copy the entire prompt in the box below. You will customize the three items marked in brackets before sending it. | **📋 AI Prompt — Copy & Customize** | | --- | | *I need you to create a uConnect site map spreadsheet for \[INSTITUTION NAME\]. Leave as-is to default to navy. |   #### Step 4: Send and Download Paste the customized prompt into your AI chat and press Send. Once the AI responds: If the AI provides a file download link, click it to save the spreadsheet. Rows will be color-coded by section using your institution's brand colors, with a frozen header row for easy scrolling.  #### What does a completed uConnect site map include? A completed uConnect site map spreadsheet includes four columns — Section, Page Name, URL, and Level — with rows color-coded by section using your institution's brand colors. The header row is frozen for easy scrolling, all URLs are hyperlinked, and the file is formatted in Arial font and saved as a .xlsx file. #### Troubleshooting & FAQs **The AI says it can't access my URL.** Some AI tools require web browsing to be enabled. Check your tool's settings to turn on web access, or try a different AI assistant. If browsing isn't available, the AI can still generate a blank template structure — just paste or type your page names directly into the chat and ask it to populate the spreadsheet from that list. **The spreadsheet is missing some pages.** AI tools can only see what's publicly accessible on your homepage navigation. Pages that require login, or links buried in body content, may not be captured. Review the output and add any missing pages manually in Excel or Google Sheets. You can also ask the AI in the same chat to add specific pages — for example: *"Please add a row for /events under the Main level in the Student Services section."* **The colors don't match my brand.** In the same chat, follow up with: "Please update the header color to #XXXXXX and redownload the file."
