[Get Started](https://support.gouconnect.com/articles/get-started) # How to create and assign events to Calendars Calendars in uConnect let you segment and organize Events by audience or category. You can create, edit, assign, and manage multiple Calendars from the **Manage** section of your uConnect platform. The sections below explain how to create a Calendar, assign Events to it, change the Front Page Calendar, and connect Handshake RSS feeds. ## How to create a new Calendar To create a new Calendar, follow these steps: 1. Navigate to the **Manage** section of your uConnect platform. 2. Click **Calendars**. 3. Click **Add New**. 4. Enter a name for your Calendar and configure any additional settings. 5. Click **Save** to create the Calendar. You can also edit existing Calendars from this same screen. ![](https://support.gouconnect.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/image-Feb-25-2026-06-57-38-9707-PM.png) **Pro Tip:** We recommend basing your Calendars on Audience/Stakeholder groups, such as Students, Alumni, Employers, etc. so you can organize events into one Calendar for that particular audience. ## Assign Events to a Calendar Once your Calendar is created, you can assign any Event to it. An Event can be assigned to more than one Calendar. 1. Navigate to **Publish \> Events**. 2. Choose the Event you want to assign and click **Edit**. 3. From the **Calendars** dropdown, select the Calendar you want to assign the Event to. 4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click **Save**. ![](https://support.gouconnect.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/image-Feb-25-2026-06-57-41-0923-PM.png) ## Change which Calendar displays on the Front Page If Events appear in your Front Page header or banner image, you can choose which Calendar is displayed there. To update this setting: 1. Navigate to **Customize \> Settings \> Frontpage**. 2. Locate the **Events Calendar** field. 3. Select the Calendar you want to display on the Front Page from the dropdown menu. To update this, navigate to Customize\>Settings\>Frontpage, and then for the "Events Calendar" field, you can select which Calendar you'd like to use for the Front Page from the dropdown menu. ![](https://support.gouconnect.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/image-Feb-25-2026-06-57-40-0464-PM.png) ## Assign Handshake RSS Feeds to Calendars Assigning Handshake Event RSS feeds to a Calendar requires uConnect support. Choose the option that matches your situation: - **Reassign an existing feed:** If you have already submitted a Handshake Event RSS feed that has been uploaded to your uConnect platform, the uConnect support team will reassign it to the Calendar you specify. To request this change, **[please submit a support request here.](https://share.hsforms.com/10AUHU9-DRi-Bw3fdB-SUYA8bok)** - **Add a new feed:** To add new Handshake Event RSS feeds to your uConnect platform, **[submit them using our form](https://clients.gouconnect.com/resources/submit-handshake-feeds/)** and include a note specifying which Calendar you want each feed assigned to.
