Embedding Your Outcomes Data on External Websites

Extend the reach of your outcomes data beyond your VCC. Follow this guide to using the iframe embed code to feature interactive, filterable outcomes widgets on your institution's admissions, department, or main websites.

Overview

One of the most powerful things you can do with your ODV module is take your outcomes data beyond your VCC and embed it on your institution's broader web presence. With the embed code feature, you can place an interactive, filterable outcomes widget on admissions pages, department microsites, your institution's main website, and more — bringing your outcomes story directly to the audiences who need it most.

📌 Please Note

The Embed Code tab is an ODV-only feature. Customers without the ODV module will see this tab as locked.

Accessing the Embed Code

  • Log in to your admin dashboard and navigate to Analyze > Student Outcomes.
  • Click the Embed Code tab.
  • Copy the embed code using the Copy button.


Sharing the Embed Code with Your Web Team

Once you have copied your embed code, share it with the team responsible for managing your institution's website. The embed code is an HTML iframe — a standard, widely supported format that most content management systems (CMS) can accept.

When sharing with your web team, it helps to:

  • Specify the pages where you would like the widget to appear (e.g., admissions landing page, specific department pages, main career services page)
  • Share example screenshots or a link to your live Outcomes page so they can see what the widget looks like
  • Note that the widget is responsive and will adjust to the width of the container it is placed in

💡 Pro Tip

Getting outcomes data onto your admissions pages is one of the highest-impact placements available. Prospective students and families actively seek this information during the decision-making process — having it interactive and filterable by major is a meaningful differentiator.

Recommended Placement Locations

Consider embedding your outcomes data in the following locations for maximum reach and impact:

  • Main admissions page: Help prospective students understand career pathways before they enroll.
  • Academic department pages: Show major-specific outcomes where students are already exploring programs.
  • Prospective student events (virtual): Embed on event landing pages for open houses, admitted student days, and more.
  • Alumni engagement pages: Give alumni a window into how outcomes have evolved since they graduated.


What the Embedded Widget Includes

The embedded outcomes widget includes the same interactive experience as your full VCC Outcomes page:

  • All charts and visualizations configured in your Page Settings
  • All filter dropdowns configured in your Filter Dropdowns settings
  • Your customized page title and chart titles

Data Exclusion settings apply to the embedded widget — any class years or majors you have excluded from your Outcomes page will also be excluded from the embed.


Keeping the Embed Up to Date

The embed code does not need to be updated when you upload new outcomes data. The widget automatically reflects your most current uploaded and published data. When you upload a new class year or update your data, the embedded widget will update accordingly.

📌 Please Note

If you update your Page Settings or Filter Dropdowns, those changes will also automatically reflect in all embedded versions of your Outcomes widget — no need to re-share the embed code.
