Symplicity Event Types

uConnect has released an update to the Symplicity events integration that expands the event content you can import directly into your uConnect platform.

Previously, only events tagged to one of three categories in Symplicity — Career Fair, Workshop, or Information Session — could be imported into uConnect.

Now with this update, you'll be able specify which types of career fairs, workshops, etc. you'd like to import and include more core event categories, such as the following:

If you use custom event categories in your Symplicity instance, contact our team to find out whether those categories can also be imported into uConnect.

If there are certain event types or categories you wish to not pull over, we can omit specific ones from being brought into your uConnect system.

Additionally, any event category imported from Symplicity can be mapped to content categories and Communities in uConnect. For example, events tagged as 'Career Fair - Event Type' in Symplicity can be mapped to a 'Career Fairs' content category tag in uConnect, allowing students to filter by career fairs on an event page and easily find relevant content.

If you would also like all career fairs for example to appear on a Business Community on your platform, our team can update your integration to accomplish this, and pull certain kinds of events from Symplicity into related Communities.

In short, you now have much greater flexibility to control which event types are imported into uConnect and where they appear on your platform.
