[Modules & Integrations](https://support.gouconnect.com/articles/modules-integrations) # How should I set up my Handshake job and event feeds?   Handshake job and event RSS feeds let you deliver tailored jobs and events directly into your uConnect Communities, giving students a single place to find relevant opportunities that match their interests. This type of Handshake feed configuration also allows you to auto-publish your Handshake content, so that you don't have to re-approve any content while feeding in fresh job and event content directly to your platform. By adding multiple Handshake feeds, you can tailor jobs and events to each of your Communities as well as to your Job and Event Categories. For example, a student can visit your Finance Community, and see only Finance-specific jobs, or a student can filter by Full-time Jobs from your Job landing page, to only see the type of opportunity that they’re looking for.   ![](https://support.gouconnect.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/AHTC46DCvZHvAnrGPhobJEWb5BEoJ_b4RmjM4_3d6YyEWm6O23jA5k26P85-JMqyZgEc50eDRm58hmDgUZYQj2WNqNcKVke4BAXo9iCyls5fphczkFcyWkhxLK5J4rrRy1Z1Ojs5-2.png)     When creating your feeds, we recommend first thinking about the type of job or event you’re hoping to promote. Is for example, the job an internship, part-time job, full-time position, etc.? For every category of opportunity you can think of, you’ll want to make sure you have a feed set up for that category corresponding to a Community (i.e. an Arts and Entertainment feed for full-time positions, another Arts and Entertainment feed for part-time positions, etc.). More specifically with job feeds, we recommend using the **"Job Function"** filters first to narrow down the jobs or internships in your feed based on what the roles entail from a functional perspective and then if you need further customization, we recommend using the **"Employer Industry"** filters next. In most cases, you should only need to use the **"Job Function"** filter as that will show your students and alumni career options in the functional area they are interested in but in a broader subset of industries. Here's a good example of when you'd need both filters: if you are trying to create a **"Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources"** feed, you'll notice that there are only a couple related **"Job Function"** filters, such as **"Environmental/Sustainability Mgmt"** and **"Lab Work/Science,"** so this most likely won't narrow down your feed enough. Then, in this case, you'd want to add some **"Employer Industry"** filters, such as **"Agriculture," "Environmental Services," "Food & Beverage,"** and **"Natural Resources."** Although you are limiting it to these industries, these two filter groups will create a more personalized, specific feed in this industry area.   ![](https://support.gouconnect.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/image-Feb-25-2026-06-34-14-4603-PM.png)     For events, you can create career fairs, info sessions, and workshops feeds for the Finance, Healthcare, and STEM industries — for a total of 9 event feeds. We recommend following [these instructions](https://support.gouconnect.com/articles/222083748) to generate a job or event RSS feed. The most effective approach is to create at least three feeds per industry or Community on your uConnect platform — one for each main opportunity type (full-time, part-time, and internship). For example, for jobs, you can create a full-time, part-time, and internship feed for the Finance, Healthcare, and STEM industries — for a total of 9 feeds. Setting up feeds that correspond to each Community on your platform — and to the category they relate to (full-time, part-time, remote) — allows platform visitors to quickly find the content they need. Creating curated Handshake job and event feeds also helps you scale your work and save time.
