[Publish Content](https://support.gouconnect.com/articles/publish-content) # Add an order number to your Resources ### Estimated reading time: 3 minutes **Why reorder content?** While site visitors can use filters to find specific resources, you can control the order in which content appears, whether on a landing page or in a widget, so top-priority items are always seen first. ## How ordering content works - **Ascending or descending order number** The default setting in a uConnect platform is that content with a higher order number appears *before* content with lower numbers. However, you may be using the "ascending" order number option which means the *lower* the number, the *higher* the prioirty. If you're not sure, please reach out to our support team! **Example, if using higher order number:** - A resource with order `10` will appear before a resource with order `9`. - We recommend starting with a high number (e.g., `100`) to give yourself room to adjust later. - **Default order = 0** If no order is assigned, content is treated as `0`. - **Need ascending order instead?** If you'd like content to appear in *ascending* order (e.g., `1` is shown before `10`), [submit a support request](https://support.gouconnect.com/en/articles/45052-add-an-order-number-to-your-resources) and we can adjust your platform settings. ![](https://support.gouconnect.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/rsource+order-2.png) ## How to Reorder a Resource ## Step 1: Log in Access your platform’s **Admin Dashboard**. ## Step 2: Go to Content Click on the **Publish** tab in the left menu, then select your content type (e.g., **Resources**). ## Step 3: Find Your Content Use the search bar in the top right to locate the item you want to update. ## Step 4: Choose How to Edit You have two ways to set the order: ## **Option 1: Quick Edit** Fastest method. 1. Hover over the content title 2. Click **Quick Edit** 3. Update the **Order** field on the right 4. Click **Update** ## **Option 2: Full Edit (Updated Instructions)** Best if you need to make other edits too. 1. Hover over the content and click **Edit** 2. Click **Save** ⚠️ *Note:* The “Order” field is no longer in the Post Attributes section. It now appears under **Actions \> Order**. **Note:** The platform may not, in all cases, adhere to the exact order that you have entered in order to adhere to accessibility standards.
