Step 1: Access the Admin Dashboard
1. Navigate to your platform's admin dashboard.
2. Locate the **Menus** section, typically found under the **Customize\>Menus** option.
Step 2: Select the Menu to Edit
1. From the Menus section, select the menu you want to edit. On uConnect platforms, this is typically called **Primary Navigation** or **Main Menu**.
2. If it isn’t already selected, click on the menu name and press the **Select** button to load it.
Step 3: Add a Placeholder Menu Tab
1. To create a placeholder header, use the **Custom Links** option.
2. Enter a forward slash (`/`) in the URL field. This acts as a non-navigating placeholder — the tab will appear in the menu but will not link to any page.
3. Add the desired text for your tab (e.g., "Who We Serve" or "Explore Career Paths").
4. Click **Add to Menu** to add the new tab.
Step 4: Organize the New Tab
1. The newly added tab will appear at the bottom of the menu.
2. Drag and drop the tab to your desired position in the menu. To make it a dropdown header, drag child items underneath it and indent them so they appear as sub-items.
3. Click **Save Menu** to save your changes.

1. Open your site's homepage in a new browser tab to preview the changes. If you are already logged in as an admin, consider previewing in an incognito/private window to see the public-facing view.
2. Check that the new header tab appears correctly in the menu.

1. If a menu tab appears highlighted in a different color than the others, it may still have the forward slash (`/`) in its URL field, causing the platform to treat it as an active or current page.
2. Return to the **Customize\>Menus** section and locate the affected tabs.
3. For each affected tab, remove the forward slash from the URL field and leave it blank (or enter `#` as an alternative non-navigating placeholder).
4. Save the menu again to apply the changes.

1. Refresh your homepage to confirm that all menu tabs now have the same color and design.
