What are static communities?

There are two templates for communities: static and dynamic. This article addresses static communities.

Unlike dynamic communities, static communities don't function like a blog feed; they display fixed content in the form of featured content blocks. Each block consists of an image, title, and description. Static communities are a great choice if you want to present permanent content to your audience.

Select the static template:

  1. Under the Manage tab in the left-hand side menu of your dashboard, select Communities
  2. Locate the career community that you wish to update and click Edit
  3. Scroll down to Featured Content and select Static blocks

Note: If you change the Featured Content setting back and forth from static to dynamic, you won't lose the content you entered in the fields of the alternate setting. Simply switch the setting from dynamic back to static (or vice versa), click update, and the content will be restored.

Update your featured content blocks:

  1. Under the Manage tab in the left-hand side menu of your dashboard, select Communities
  2. Locate the career community that you wish to update and click Edit
  3. If the Static blocks feature is already enabled, select Add more content to add a new block
  4. Give your block a title, image, and description
  5. Create more blocks by clicking Add more content
